why we made Flicka.
Screen recordings usually need a second pass in a video editor before anyone wants to watch them: zooming in on the clicks, hiding what shouldn’t be seen, and adding a backdrop so it looks finished. Flicka puts that work into the recording itself, and it keeps everything on your computer.
You set up a take with one sentence in the popup, such as “Record this tab with my mic and auto-zoom”, then press the shutter or Alt+Shift+R. While you record, a small bar on the page lets you pause, draw, highlight and blur live. When you stop, the take opens in Flicka’s editor with your clicks already turned into zooms.
From there the take becomes a video: title cards and more takes on one timeline, transitions between them, image layers, music, a webcam layer, cuts, 3D tilt and on-device captions, exported to WebM, GIF or MP4 and rendered on your own machine.
Flicka Mockups is the second half of the same account, a browser studio for the stills. Drop a screenshot into any of 56 designed layouts, from single devices and stacked browser windows to three-phone scenes, social and launch cards, and App Store and Play sets.
Then tilt it, set the backdrop, pick a canvas size and export PNG, JPG or WebP at up to 4x, or several store sizes at once. It renders in the page, so nothing you drop in ever uploads either.
